Well - We had some excitement... I guess you could call it that. The Ship hit a rock yesterday when leaving Villefranche. One or more propellers are damaged causing us to only move at 1/2 speed. We are skipping the port call at Livorno - This is where Pisa and Florence are. The Leaning tower of Pisa was one of the 2 places Jack wanted to see. This really sucks. Avoid Celebrity - The Captains need drivers ed training.
We are limping along now to Rome where they claim the ship will be repaired. We will see how the rest of this goes assuming they can repair the ship.
If you have a cruise booked on Celebrity - Cancel it now and go to another cruise line.
BTW - The offer of $'s off our shipboard account is not acceptable. Celebrity needs to refund a lot more money for the mess they have caused.
Talk to you again soon

Sorry to hear about the rock! I know how much you were looking forward to the leaning Tower of Pisa. Did you know you hit a rock - could you feel it?
Hang in there. Hopefully when you arrive in Rome things will get back on track and you will have an amazing rest of the trip.
Had a lot of movement and some contractions last night 9:30-10:30ish. But this morning feel good. Mark should be home earlier today and our friends from Canada are coming for a visit around lunchtime so that will be nice.
Everything was fine with the nonstress test - baby was moving fine - no contractions while I was having the test. So I go back on Thursday for ultrasound at 8:15 and Dr's appt at 9:15. I'll see what she says.
Would be nice to have a 4th of July baby - we'll see...I'll keep you posted.
Wow! This is like the Titanic!
We got a fax from our Celebrity Representative stating what had happened!
I bet Rachel could have done a better job with the driving! It would have been great practice for her!
Well, I only know of one solution and that is to extend your trip and wait till we get to Europe!
Please let us know if you need anything! Happy Fourth of July!
Josh
We are glad to hear it Erin - We will call from Rome. All is well here although we missed Tuscany - We are hoping the Captain walks the plank (or is at least fired ) I do not want him driving in Santorini were the last bad captain sank a ship
Dianne, put on your life jacket and start telling jokes. You will surely get your refund and a new captain.
Erin is in the hospital! She arrived @ South Shore Hospital early this morning after her water broke at home. She is as of 10:15 am EST still in the hospital without any contractions, she may be induced sometime today but at this time that is only a maybe. A fourth of July baby would be great!
Sorry to hear of the rock in a hard place episode. At little extra time with the Pope can't be all that bad, tell him I said Hi! Kiss his ring for me also.
I'll post later once we get home from Julie's Brother Dan's house where we will be having a real in the USA fourth of July. Call my cell phone # 781 864-7641 for live Lauren updates for a charge of only $4.99 a minute. I'll call George's cell if she is in fact born today and if I can not get through I'll post the good news.
Talk to you later!
Dennis and Julie
