Hi all from the millenium - We are still at the port near Rome. All the nuts and bolts are removed and 1 port side propeller blade remains stuck in it's housing. This has been the case for over a day now. Teams of divers continue to work round the clock trying to fix the last blade. The captain and crew have been pushing back our departure time every day. The latest guess is that we leave later today (5PM). But since the old blade is not off yet... It will clearly be much later.
They have cancelled the port call in Corfu. We are getting dangerously close to missing Venice. All you folks planning to cruise on the 12th - beware. Now would be a good time to reconsider.
The crew continues to plan free excursions for us. We went to the countryside yesterday and tasted Olive Oil and Wine - It was very nice.
We are looking in to getting a flight to Venice and spending Mon-Thu in Venice. I am not sure if/when the ship will leave Rome. There are a lot of folks from the home office of Miami on board and we have not heard from the captain in a while (He is having is cruise director tell us the bad news). Perhaps the home office is grilling the captain on what happened. He really should be fired!
See ya.

Hi,
Glad you are able to take some excursions. There are so many wonderful parts of Italy and I hope you get to see some beautiful areas.
I sent Dianne some more pictures of Lauren on her email. Just wanted to mention it so you know they are there.
We are all doing well. Lauren didn't sleep much last night so we are taking it easy today but she is perfect during the day and I'm hoping for a better night tonight. She has a dr's appt tomorrow at 10:45 - she was a little jaundice so they are just checking on her. If we get the green light we may head down to Chatham on Tuesday for the rest of the week. I'm feeling very good - each day that much better and my leg is feeling much more like it should. Just a little achy in my back. Fran and Tom are coming over and they are bringing Nana so she will be able to meet Lauren. Nana has been out of breath more these days so we are concerned about her.
Ethan has really stepped up in his role as big brother - doing a great job helping out and being more independent. I'm really proud of him. He tells me "I really like Lauren" and then yesterday he said she is his "luv". So... so far we things are going really well.
Keep us posted on your trip. Talk to you soon. Take care. Love, Erin
